Audrey May Austin, 81, a Carson City resident for the past 25 years, died Dec. 30, 2002, in Carson City. She was born Aug. 5, 1921, in Swift Current, Canada, to David and Nellie Brady Helsel.
Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Napa, Calif.
Mrs. Austin was a bookkeeper. She was active in Boy Scouts and a volunteer teacher in Napa schools. She enjoyed league bowling and dancing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd W. Austin Sr., in 1992, four brothers and two sisters.
Among her survivors are: sons Lloyd W. Austin Jr. of Carson City, David M. Austin of Reno and Richard D. Helsel of Sacramento; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
