Rae Marie Elaine Brien, 82, a Gardnerville Ranchos resident for the past 30 years, died Jan. 1, 2003, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. She was born May 8, 1920, in Cleveland, Ohio, to James and Katherine Legatz DeSanto.
She married Thomas Brien in 1963.
Before moving to Gardnerville, she lived at South Lake Tahoe for nine years.
Mrs. Brien was an interior decorator in Michigan and a saleswoman for J. Moquin at South Lake Tahoe from 1965 to 1979.
She was preceded in death by her brother James Charles DeSanto.
Among her survivors are her husband of Gardnerville and daughter, Leanore Kendall of Reno.
A private memorial service was held. Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
