Robert H. Dalzell, a former member of the Legislature and well known in the state, dies at 61. "Bob," as he was generally known, held posts of constable in Tonopah, Nye County commissioner, member of Legislature and inspector for the state highway department. He never recovered from a Clark County accident in which he was caught between a gravel truck and a timber while working as state inspector.

50 YEARS AGO

Gov. Charles H. Russell missed the opening of the state Legislature for President Eisenhower's inauguration, but broke precedent by having the 1953-55 budget message delivered on the first day.

20 YEARS AGO

Hospice volunteers of Carson Valley will have an orientation program for those interested in working with the terminally ill and their families at the Senior Citizens Center in Gardnerville. The Rev.
