100 YEARS AGO

Mr. Lou Kelley, an old Nevadan now residing in California arrived yesterday with his dead wife to bury her in the family plot in the Catholic cemetery where are remains of their infant child and Ann Stanton, her sister. She died of consumption.

70 YEARS AGO

"Trouble in Paradise" is the opening feature of the Roxie Theater after a two-month period of darkness. George Sanford Jr., manager, says high class releases will be featured, and changed three times a week.

50 YEARS AGO

Children at Sunny Acres are putting finishing touches on their acts in the Talent Revue at the civic auditorium. They range in age from 3 to 16. Three small Chinese children will do a Chinese dance, and there will be a number of special dances (orphan's home).

20 YEARS AGO

Almost 250 new jobs in the Carson City area will be filled this week for the new Mervyn's store now under construction to open March 4. It was founded in 1949 with a 2,800-square-foot store.

10 YEARS AGO

Theresa York of Carson City has received the Rotary Club's outstanding person in medicine award. She is a charge nurse in the emergency room of Carson-Tahoe Hospital and is a Carson High School graduate with a nursing degree from Western Nevada Community College and University of Nevada, Reno.
