Obituary: William Haller

A memorial service for William Henry Haller, 68, a Nevada resident for 37 years, will be at 10 a.m. June 21 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Dayton. A reception will be announced.

Mr. Haller died May 29, 2003. He was born Dec. 4, 1934, in Topeka, Kan. He lived in several places in Nevada, but his favorite place was Virginia City.

He graduated from Beaverton High School in 1954.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1954 to 1958 and attended college for two years.

He was baptized in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1966.

Mr. Haller worked several places as a chef. He worked construction for many years and was a bartender in Virginia City. He was a member of the American Legion.

Among his survivors are his wife of 12 years, Barbara; sons Timothy of Willamina, Ore., and Daniel of Lacey, Wash.; daughters Kellie Grahmann of Dayton, Michelle McGraw of Aloha, Ore., and Melody Dixon of West Lynn, Ore.; brothers Albert of Green Bay, Wis., and Harry of Johnson City, Ore.; sisters Lois Ridgeway of McCalla, Ala., Ellen Raye of Sheridan, Calif., and Wilma Jean Hale of Aiken, S.C.; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The Neptune Society is in charge of arrangements.
