Obituary: Louise L. Sutherland

A funeral for Louise L. Sutherland, 83, a Carson City resident for the past 45 years, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Walton's.

Mrs. Sutherland died June 16, 2003, in Carson City. She was born April 1, 1920, in Temperanceville, Ohio, to George and Mary Burkhart Gallagher.

She married Howard Sutherland on June 22, 1954, in Temperanceville.

Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Temperanceville.

Mrs. Sutherland was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, baking, reading and spending time with her family. She was a past member of the Carson City Homemakers Club. She was a Catholic and a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her brothers William Gallagher and Michael Gallagher, both in 1969, and Nicholas Gallagher in 1972.

Among her survivors are her husband of Carson City; daughters Pamela Michelson of El Dorado, Calif., Regina Gialy of Carson City and Linda McMahon of Folsom, Calif.; son, Don Armstrong of Carson City; sisters Blanche Wright and Catherine Hagen, both of Barnesville, Ohio, and Pauline Peonski of Dundee, Ill.; brothers Eugene Gallagher of Barnesville and John Gallagher of Columbus, Ohio; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.

Burial will be at Lone Mountain Cemetery.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
