A male nurse charged with molesting two female patients at a Carson City hospital could face additional charges after more women filed reports against him, officials said.
Thirteen other women claim Jason Laurie, 29, molested them while they were patients at Carson-Tahoe Hospital, said Carson sheriff's Sgt. Bob White. The allegations go back to last September.
The sheriff's department has wrapped up an investigation into the allegations and planned to deliver a report to the district attorney's office.
"We've interviewed the victims and are giving that information to the district attorney to decide what to do with it," White told a Reno newspaper.
Chief Deputy District Attorney Anne Langer said charges probably would be filed this week.
"We'll take a look at the report and hopefully be filing charges the first part of (the) week," Langer said. "At that time, we will re-arraign Mr. Laurie on additional charges and set a preliminary hearing date."
Laurie was arrested Feb. 14 on suspicion of two gross misdemeanor counts of open and gross lewdness.
The arrest occurred after two female patients complained that an emergency room nurse had sexually violated them while they were under sedation.
Sheriff's investigators said Laurie was questioned when he arrived for work and confessed to violating both women. He was fired after his arrest.
After the arrest, other women came forward with similar allegations, White said.
The Nevada State Board of Nursing has set a Friday hearing to consider revoking Laurie's license. The board suspended his license after his arrest.
Laurie, the president of Western Nevada Community College's nursing clas of 2001, was being held in jail in lieu of $55,000 bail.
