Walt Cansdale has been named vice president of operations at Washoe Medical Center.
Cansdale oversees daily operations of the laboratory, pharmacy, and inpatient imaging.
He is also responsible for cardiopulmonary, environmental, and food and nutrition services at Washoe Med.
He previously worked at One Health Plan of California in San Jose, where he served as vice president of network/management/ provider relations.
Prior to that, he served as vice president of network partnerships and regional operations for Ochsner Health Plan in New Orleans.
Cansdale received a bachelor of science degree in pharmacy from the University of Arizona.
