Vernon F. Bryan Jr., 57, a lifetime resident of Smith Valley, died March 25, 2003, at South Lyon Medical Center of cancer. He was born June 21, 1945, in Smith Valley, to Vernon and Ruth Ann Wood Bryan.
He was a longtime Smith Valley farmer. He was active in 4-H for many years as a leader and a volunteer with the Smith Valley Fire Department. He was an avid hunter.
Among his survivors are his son Michael of Smith Valley; daughter Debbie of Reno; sisters Victoria Schmiedeberg and Delores Wax; brothers Richard and Robert; five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be held.
