LYON COUNTY

Nevada State Health Division inspections of Lyon County's food-service establishments and the date of inspection:

-- Winners Corner 95 Deli, Highway 95A and Goldfield, Yerington, 84, April 30

Cannot store/thaw chicken in sink -- thaw in refrigerator or under cold running water. Hot case must maintain produce at 140F, not 125F. Store plastic utensils with all handles facing same direction. Hair longer than collar length must be restrained.

Do not store forks, paper bags on top of ice machine.

Restroom door needs to close completely. Remove empty cardboard boxes from cooler. Must keep outside Dumpster closed.

-- Patio Cafe, Weed Heights, 86, April 30

Cutting boards need replaning/replacing. All dispensing handles must face the same direction. Cannot store food above carpeted surface (linoleum, tile OK). Do not block back door open without screening or installing air curtain. Do not block hand-wash sink; must be accessible. Food-storage rooms must have smooth, nonporous, easily cleaned floors, walls and ceilings.

DOUGLAS COUNTY

Nevada State Health Division inspections of Douglas County's food-service establishments and the date of inspection:

Install proper back-flow protection device on carbonator water supply line (i.e., double check vented). Clean food spillage from under service line. Seal walls around tubing and conduit as to prevent pest harborage. Replace burned-out light in service station reach-in cooler with shatterproof type bulb.

Intake air duct in prep room ceiling needs to be cleaned of accumulated dust. Employee restroom and locker room floor need cleaning, i.e., gum buildup at wall/floor juncture; trash between and behind lockers.

Cold plates must be placed in containers with ice not used for human consumption. Cold plates has slime and corrosion underneath. Glass washer rinse cycle has no detectable chlorine. Store raw meats and seafood below prepared food, i.e., steaks and oysters. Replace or adjust dishwasher rinse cycle temperature gauge. Dishes have greasy film. Dishwasher wash tank may need to be drained and cleaned more regularly, and dishes air-dried and not stacked wet. Secure faucet on dipper well.
