Visitation for 14-year Carson City resident John Savickas, 78, will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at FitzHenry's Funeral Home.
Mr. Savickas died May 8, 2003, at St. Mary's Hospital in Reno. He was born June 17, 1924 in Rokickis, Lithuania, to Jonas and Anele Zvirblis Savickas.
He married Diana Kramilius July 30, 1949 in Nottingham, England. He enjoyed playing the harmonica, barbecuing and spending time with his grandchildren.
Prior to living in Carson City he lived in Los Angeles. He worked as a machinist for the military.
He was preceded in death by sisters Anele and Emilija.
Among his survivors are his wife of Carson City; daughters Rita Marie Lanson of Danville, Calif., Linda Valdes of Palmdale, Calif., and Joan Beasom of Carson City; sisters Zafija and Elana of Lithuania; and seven grandchildren.
A private Funeral Mass will be said Wednesday at St. Teresa's Catholic Church.
Cremation is under direction of FitzHenry's Crematory. FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
