TMCC Foundation elects officers

Bruce Krater, a retired engineer, has been elected president of the Truckee Meadows Community College Foundation.

Other officers of the group include:

* Walt Katai, senior consulting group associate, Salomon Smith Barney, Inc., vice president;

* Stan Thomas, director of business planning and growth, Sierra Pacific Power, secretary-treasurer;

* Rod Sanford, Private Client Group, U.S.

Bank, member-at-large.

Carlos Romo, assistant administrator, Nevada Equal Rights Commission, continues on the executive committee as immediate past president.

The TMCC Foundation Board of Trustees assists the college in fundraising and public relations.

The TMCC Foundation, established in 1982, has awarded more than $2 million in scholarships for TMCC students and sponsors a faculty grant program each year to fund classroom equipment.
