Albert Martin Hawley Jr., 68, died at home on May 19, 2003. He was born July 28, 1934, in Fort Hall, Idaho, to Albert Martin Sr. and Lucille Talbot Hawley.
He spent his early youth in the Carson City area, living at the Stewart Indian Boarding School and attending school in the Carson City public school system.
He graduated from college in Phoenix with a degree in medical technology. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Army.
Upon returning to Phoenix, Mr. Hawley worked for St. Mary's Hospital then Good Samaritan Hospital, from which he retired in 2000.
He was proud of his American Indian heritage and was an enrolled member of the Fort Belknap Indian Community in Harlem, Mont.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Elizabeth Lucille Hughes.
Among his survivors are his brother, Joseph of Carson City; sister, Mary Faras, of Tucson, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews.
Services and entombment were held in Scottsdale, Ariz.
