Jill A. (Warnecke) Kowalick

A family memorial service for Jill A. (Warnecke) Kowalick, 54, a La Habra Heights, Calif. resident for the past 15 years, will be Nov. 8 in La Habra Heights.

Mrs. Kowalick died Oct. 30, 2003 at home of complications of breast cancer.

She was born May 28, 1949, in Vallejo, Calif.

She graduated from John Swett High School, in Crockett, Calif. She was an exchange student in Germany then received bachelor's and master's degrees from University of California, Santa Barbara, and a Ph.D. from Stanford University.

Mrs. Kowalick taught for one year at the University of Colorado, three years at Princeton University in New Jersey and UC Los Angeles until her health deteriorated.

She was preceded in death by her mother on Sept. 4, 2002.

Among her survivors are her husband, William; father, Jack Warnecke of Carson City; brothers John of Virginia and James of Jacksonville, Fla.; sister, Judy W. Cranston of Fairfield, Calif.; and nine nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to City of Hope in Duarte, Calif.

Rose Hills Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
