Hayes joins Sands board

The Sands Regent announced that longtime Chairman Katherene Latham and board member Peter Cladianos, Jr.

have retired from the company's board, but will continue to advise the Sands as consultants.

Current board member Jon Bengtson has been elected chairman, while Douglas Hayes has joined the board as an independent member.

Bengston has been chief financial officer and director of Sharegate, Inc.

since July 2000.

Since January 1996, he has served as chairman of the board of directors of Radica Games, Ltd.

where he was executive vice president and chief operating officer for two years.

Hayes has headed Hayes Capital Corp., based in Los Angeles, since 1997.

He also served as chairman of Compass Aerospace Corp.

from 1998 to 2002.

Previously, he was managing director of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette between 1986 and 1997; of Merrill Lynch Capital Markets, from 1984 to 1986; and of A.G.

Becker & Co., from 1974 to 1984.
