Edith Eva Smith Tebbe, 92, of Yerington died Sept. 27, 2003, at home. She was born Nov. 26, 1920, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, to George B. and Edith A. Saunders Smith.
She graduated from Halifax Academy and the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal with an registered nurse degree in 1934.
She married Dr. Stanley Tebbe in 1938, and they moved to Yerington in 1940.
Mrs. Tebbe was active in the community, assisting in her husband's 30-year practice. She was a charter member of the South Lyon Medical Center Hospital Auxiliary and of Chapter 0, P.E.O. Sisterhood.
She was preceded in death by her husband and son, Lt. Col. Stanley Timothy Tebbe.
Among her survivors are her sister, Constance Oxley of Sydney, Nova Scotia; grandson, Travis Teebe; granddaughters Tami Hannah and Tracy Tebbe; and five great-grandchildren.
A private family service was held with burial in the family plot at Valley View Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in her name may be made to a charity of choice.
