Obituary: Lorena Scoggin

A memorial service for Lorena L. Scoggin, 90, a Carson City resident for the past 55 years, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church in Carson City.

Mrs. Scoggin died Oct. 2, 2003, at Evergreen Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born Oct. 27, 1912, in Austin, to James and Belle Moss Roberts.

Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Austin.

Mrs. Scoggin owned and operated Lorena's Beauty Shop for more than 40 years. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, fishing and hunting. She was a member of Rebekah Lodge 14 of Carson City and we was very active in the First United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her brothers Austin Roberts and William Roberts and sister Elvira Kertsey.

Among her survivors are her sons Norman E. of Carson City and James E. of Lookout, Calif.; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
