Reno man allegedly flashed women in Carson City too

A Reno man in custody on charges he exposed himself to clerks in Douglas County may have done the same to at least two women in Carson City on the same day.

Tim Hovan, 43, is in custody in the Washoe County Jail on a Douglas County warrant charging him with five counts of indecent exposure stemming from a series of incidents on Aug. 26.

According to Sgt. Bob White of the Carson City Sheriff's Department, Hovan is suspected of exposing himself to female clerks in Carson City stores on Aug. 26.

According to police reports, Hovan allegedly entered a bead store on Carson Street and asked the clerk to show him some butterfly beads. When she bent over to pick them up she felt something press against her, she said. Frightened, she stepped behind the counter.

She said Hovan then asked to see something in the display counter and when she reached for it she saw he was exposing himself against the glass case.

The woman said as Hovan left the store, he turned and stated, "You know, when I was little, my babysitter would dress me in panties."

A few hours later, deputies received a report that Hovan allegedly followed another woman around to clothing racks in a second Carson Street business. When he left there, the woman followed him outside and got his license plate number, the report states.

Hovan has a prior conviction of indecent exposure in California which requires him to register as a sex offender, according to reports.
