Taxable sales in north counties jump in July

Taxable sales increased in July from the same month a year earlier throughout most of northern Nevada.

Taxable sales jumped 3.6 percent in Churchill County, 9.9 percent in Douglas County, 6.6 percent in Elko County, 19.5 percent n Lyon County, 2.1 percent in Carson City and 7.4 percent in Washoe County.

Taxable sales dropped by 8.5 percent in Humboldt County and by .8 percent in Storey County.

Taxable sales statewide increased by 9.3 percent to $2.95 billion.
