Obituary: Robert F. Young

A graveside service for Robert F. Young, 76, a Carson City resident for the past year, will be at 2 p.m. today at Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. today at FitzHenry's Funeral Home.

Mr. Young died Oct. 3, 2003, at home. He was born July 9, 1927, in Pendleton, Ore., to Fred and Minnie Welch Young.

He married Nanna Richardson on June 11, 1948.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Coarsegold, Calif.

Mr. Young enjoyed silversmithing and tooling leather. He was involved in Indian Guides and Little League. He was a Protestant.

Among his survivors are his wife of Carson City; sons Michael of Carson City, Jerry of Denver and Derris of Susanville, Calif.; daughters Tamera Prall of Carson City, Gail Key of Tacoma, Wash., and Roberta Bishop of Sacramento, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
