Sarah Stadler, a 15-year-old sophomore at Carson High School, recently had the honor of representing Nevada at the National Federation of Republican Women's National Conference in Salt Lake City.
Sarah served as Page for the Nevada Delegation for the three-day event. Among her official duties, Sarah carried and posted the Nevada State flag during the opening ceremony procession of state flags. Because of her ROTC training with the Carson color guard, Sarah was one of very few pages who correctly handled and presented the state ensign.
Sarah had the opportunity to hear several important Republican speakers at the conference.
She heard about beating the political odds from Hawaii Gov. Linda Lingle; Gov. Mike Leavitt from Utah welcomed all attendees to the great state of Utah (he is also President Bush's pick to be the next EPA director) and a representative from the Department of Education is Washington, DC, spoke about President Bush's "No Child Left Behind" program.
Sarah will add this experience to her resume that she said she hopes will someday take her into elected office at State and National levels.
Also attending the Conference from Carson City were Audrey Rich, president of the Carson City Republican Women, Kaye Keeton, president-elect of the CCRW and Laurel Stadler, chaplain of the CCRW.
