A service for Elvira Reeves Kiehlbauch, 95, a Carson City resident for the past 15 years, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church in Virginia City. There will be a graveside service at the Masonic Cemetery, followed by a reception at the Senior Citizens Center in Virginia City.
Mrs. Kiehlbauch died Oct. 12, 2003, in Carson City. She was born Jan. 9, 1908, in Snohomish, Wash., to Edward and Julia Crowe Herrmann.
She graduated from Granite Falls High School and the University of Washington in Seattle with a bachelor of arts degree in 1927.
Mrs. Kiehlbauch was an owner-operator of the Mackay Mansion in Virginia City for 27 years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Historical Rebekah Lodge of Virginia City, Button Club of Nevada, Nevada Landmarks Society in Carson City and Daughters of the American Revolution, Fremont Chapter. She received a Governor's Proclamation for restoration of the Mackay Mansion.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard, on Aug. 7, 1987.
Among her survivors are her children Theresa Behnken of Reno and John Kiehlbauch of Las Vegas; sister, Kathryn Connelly of Spokane, Wash.; grandchildren Howard Behnken of Culver City, Calif., and John and Jason Kiehlbauch, both of Las Vegas; one great-grandchild; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
