120 YEARS AGO

On Tuesday, while attending the Mason Valley Fair, Mr. Moses Tebbs, a Genoa lawyer, was stricken down by a paralysis and died almost instantly. The deceased will be remembered as the Republican nominee for Attorney General in the campaign of 1874.

100 YEARS AGO

A city block without measles is out of time with the rest of the community. Stone Bros., who have the contract for the last 18 miles of the irrigating canal in Churchill County, have already removed over a 1U2 mile of the canal to its full depth.

70 YEARS AGO

Dr. Carl M. Warner, pastor of the Reno Methodist Church, will address the Leisure Hour Club this evening on the National Recovery Act, it was announced by Mrs. V.E. Maher, president. He recently made a greatly-enjoyed address before the Sparks Lions Club.

50 YEARS AGO

More than 30 groups so far have signified their intention to participate in the Square Dance Festival to be held in the high school gymnasium the second day of the Nevada Day celebration. The festival has always been one of the top drawing cards of the celebration.

20 YEARS AGO

Clerk-Treasurer Ted Thornton will recommend that the school district handle its own investments because the city can no longer keep the interest earned by investing school tax collections. Superintendent Harry Dickson pointed this out two weeks ago, the result of legislative action. Amount listed at $40,000.
