Val Ray Dittberner, 69, a Yerington resident for the past 10 years, died Aug. 31, 2003, at South Lyon Medical Center. He was born April 1, 1934, to Raymond and Elaine Metschke Dittberner.
Before moving to Yerington, he lived at South Lake Tahoe for 35 years.
Mr. Dittberner served in the U.S. Navy on a submarine during the Korean War.
Among his survivors are his mother of Angels Camp, Calif.; sons Dan of Reno and Davy of Minden; daughter, Robbin Dittberner of Reno; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A private family service was held.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
