Airport cargo traffic down in August

In August, cargo traffic at the Reno- Tahoe International Airport dropped 7.9 percent to 8.7 million pounds from the same month a year earlier.

Year to date cargo traffic is 66.2 million pounds, down 4.9 percent from the first eight months of 2002.

Passenger traffic dropped slightly in August, by .2 percent, to 435,006 passengers.

Year to date, passenger traffic has declined .7 percent to 3.1 million passengers.
