Audra Leota Corrine Spainhower

A memorial service for Audra Leota Corrine Spainhower, 92, of Carson City will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at FitzHenry's Funeral Home.

A memorial service will also be held at the First Christian Church in Denver, where her cremains will be placed in the Spainhower plot in the Kent Cemetery.

Mrs. Spainhower died April 25, 2004, at Evergreen Care Center. She was born Oct. 27, 1911, in Parnell, Mo., to Earl and Nellis Finley Emerson.

She attended school in Parnell and graduated from Grant City High School in May 1930. Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Gardnerville for 41 years, moving from Maryville, Mo.

She married Julius Woodson Spainhower June 20, 1930, in Parnell.

Mrs. Spainhower was a housekeeper at the Village Motel until her retirement at age 82. She was a member of the First Methodist Church in Grant City.

Among her survivors are her children Greta DeHart of Minden, Ardith Farnsworth of Bloomington, Minn., Christopher Spainhower of Grant City, Mo., Gary Spainhower of Des Moines, Iowa, and Darrell Spainhower of Jacksonville, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and 24 great-great-grandchildren.

Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
