Woman hospitalized after accident near Fernley

FERNLEY - A Fernley woman remained in the hospital Friday following an accident there in which two others were injured.

Leslee Saderup, 39, of Fernley was westbound in a 2001 Ford Escort on Highway 50 Alternate. Saderup was attempting to make a left turn onto Desert Rose Street when she crossed into the eastbound path of a 1997 GMC pickup driven by Sheyanne Arends, 31, of Hawthorne, said Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Joe Winchester.

Upon impact, the pickup rolled and came to rest on its wheels facing west in the eastbound travel lane.

Saderup was transported to Washoe Medical Center by helicopter where she was listed in fair condition in the intensive care unit.

Arends was treated and released from the hospital. The status of her 11-year-old daughter Lesley Arends who was with her in the pickup was unavailable.
