Eloise Ivers

A celebration of life for Eloise Ivers, 94, a Carson City resident will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Ivers died Aug. 9, 2004, in Carson City. She was born Sept. 10, 1909, in Trumansburg, N.Y., to Edward and Pearl Tilyou.

Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Fairfield, Calif.

Mrs. Ivers owned the T&O Restaurant in Cortland, N.Y., and two restaurants in Yuba City, Calif., the Yuba City Cafe and Ripley's Restaurant. She also owned the Garcia Motel in Yuba City.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ted Ripley in 1951 and second husband, William C. Ivers in 1997; son Stanley Ripley December 1991; daughter Nancy Hamilton in 1954 and sisters Dorothea Givens in 1944 and Ruth Harmon in 1994 and grandson, George Hamilton in 1954.

Among her survivors are her daughters and sons-in-law Joyce and Don Bennett of Yuba City; Laura Jane and Gail Willey of Carson City; Sonja and Bill Lindholm of Yuba City and Jackie and Larry Bush of Stockton, Calif.; brother, Robert Edward Tilyou of Rio Linda, Calif.; 17 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
