Ulysses B. McCalister

A graveside service for Ulysses B. McCalister, 80, of Stateline will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Santa Paula Cemetery in Santa Paula, Calif.

Mr. McCalister died Aug. 9, 2004, in Minden. He was born May 14, 1924, in Alicia, Ark., to John and Flora McCalister.

Before moving to Stateline, he lived in Sacramento.

Mr. McCalister was a carpenter and contractor of residential and commercial buildings. He had a commercial pilot's license and was a crop duster.

He was a horseman and enjoyed hunting. He was a member of the Airport Road Church of Christ in Carson City.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Christine Blackshear; and brothers Cecil and Austin.

Among his survivors are his sons Terry of Sacramento, Daniel of Kehei, Hawaii, Edward of Desert Hot Springs, Calif., and Ken of Reno; daughters Marilyn McCalister of Minden and Lori Ann Munson of Nashville, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
