Aramark unit leases space for Reno distribution center

Aramark Uniform Career Apparel, a division of Aramark Corp., an international company based in Philadelphia, is adding a new distribution center - this one in Reno's South Meadows.

The 203,000-square-foot facility at 1195 Trademark Drive is slated to open in late spring, according to Kristine Grow,Aramark media representative, and to employ about 250 people.

It is one-half of a 406,000-square-foot building, the other half occupied by Hopkins Distributing Co.

and Hobbico.

Trammel Crow Company served as the agent on Aramark's lease deal, says Matt Riecken, vice president of office/industrial for the commercial real estate company.

Industrial developer DP Partners vice president of leasing, Mike McCabe, the building's lessor, says that Aramark is already working with United Construction on interior work conveyors, docks and offices.

Meanwhile, says McCabe, DP Partners is providing temporary offices for Aramark's hiring, screening, and training efforts.

Aramark reported sales of $2.6 billion for fourth quarter, 2004,with $264 million in its uniform and career apparel rental segment and $100 million in direct marketing.

The new Reno distribution center will service the uniform and career apparel direct sales customer on the West Coast, says Grow.
