What's closed for New Year's

State, federal and city offices will be closed today for New Year's.

Western Nevada Community College campuses and learning centers in Carson City, Fallon, Minden, Fernley, Hawthorne, Lovelock, Smith Valley and Yerington will be closed today.

The front counter of the Carson City Sheriff's Department will be closed today. Jail visitations will be conducted Sunday.

The Storey County Senior Citizens Center will be closed Monday.

The Carson City, Dayton, Douglas County and Silver Springs senior centers will be closed today. The Fernley senior center will be open regular hours.

Lyon County public libraries, other county offices and the marriage bureau will be closed today.

The Carson City public library will be closed today and Saturday.

Douglas County public library will close an hour early, at 5 p.m, today and be closed Saturday. Silver Stage public library will be closed today.

The U.S. Post Office and its retail stations will be closed Saturday.

Most banks will be closed for the holiday. Colonial Bank will close at 2 p.m. Friday. Wells Fargo will close today at 4 p.m.
