Dennis E.Wheeler resigned from the board of Reno-based Sierra Pacific Resources.
Wheeler, 61, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Idahobased Coeur d'Alene Mines Corp., had served on Sierra Pacific's board since 1990.
He said he doesn't have time to continue.
Sierra Pacific Resources now has eight board members, including seven independent outside directors.
