Current daily traffic counts on Carson Street:
35,000 vehicles daily at the north end of town
50,000 vehicles daily at Stewart Street
Bypass estimates
15,000 a day expected to use the north half of the bypass once it opens in 2006.
Once the bypass is completed, hopefully in 2010, traffic counts on the freeway are expected to exceed 40,000 a day.
With growth in the area, vehicle counts will still exceed 20,000 a day on Carson Street in 2015, according to the city's master plan.
