Earl W. Boice

A memorial service for Earl W. Boice, a 64-year Carson City resident, will be at 1:30 p.m. today at the First United Methodist Church.

Mr. Boice died Feb. 13, 2004, in Carson City. He was born Aug. 28, 1934, in Oakland, Calif., to Earl K. and Helen Cooper Boice. He was 69.

Mr. Boice was an engineer tech for the Nevada Department of Transportation, retiring after 36 years. He was a U.S. Marine and a veteran of the Korean War. He was a resident of the Carson Indian Colony for more than 30 years.

He attended the First United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his first wife of 26 years, Anita, in 1986.

Among his survivors are his wife Valerie Boice of Carson City; son Michael Mandeville of Carson City and Rocky Boice Sr.; daughter and son-and-law Heidi and Dan Wash of McCall, Idaho; daughter Cindy; sister and brother-in-law Bonnie and Kiyoshi Nishikawa of Carson City; sister Ella Fowlkes of Carson City; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Interment with military honors will be at 10 a.m. today at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley.

Donations in his name may be made to a charity of choice.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
