William McBride, 89, a Carson City resident for 12 years, died Dec. 31 at Carson-Tahoe Hospital.
Born July 17, 1914 in Colorado to John and Mae Nyswonger McBride, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II with the shore patrol.
He married Jaennette Klesert in 1940 in Santa Barbara, Calif. Mr. McBride retired after 30 years with the California Highway Patrol and was a long-time member of the National Rifle Association.
He came to Carson City from King City, Calif.
Mr. McBride is survived by his wife, Jeannette of Carson City and a daughter, Mikel Ann Hettrick of Carson City.
No services will be held. Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory. FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
