John Cole, who's been the acting president and chief executive officer of Hytek Microsystems in Carson City, last week was named to the positions permanently.
He's also a member of the board of directors of the publicly held company.
Cole held the company's top executive positions as a consultant since March.
He has more than 30 years experience in technology and manufacturing.
Although Cole's pay hasn't been approved by its compensation committee, the company expects it will be similar to what he made as a consultant.
Hytek specializes in high reliability microelectronic circuits that are used in oil exploration, military applications, satellite systems, industrial electronics, opto-electronics and other applications.
