Allen Gates, interim chair and professor of mechanical engineering at the University of Nevada, Reno, has been named assistant director of the Center for Downstream Applications at the Great Basin Center for Geothermal Energy.
Gates earned bachelor's of science and master's of science degrees at the University of Nevada, Reno, as well as a master's degree in business as a Sloan Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Ph.D.
at Case- Western Reserve University.
