Roy William Mitchell, 75, a Dayton and Carson City resident for the past 11 years, died July 8, 2004, at home in Dayton.
He was born Dec. 21, 1928, in Rochester, N.Y., to Winfred L. and Ella Jackson Mitchell.
He married Jean Lange in Reno in 1948.
Before moving to this area, he lived in Washington.
Mr. Mitchell enjoyed stamp collecting, fantasy football and horse breeding.
He served in the U.S. Marines.
He was preceded in death by his wife and his brother, Lloyd Mitchell.
Among his survivors are his son, Gary of Vancouver, Canada; daughter, Cathleen Douglass of Palo Alto, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
No service will be held.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
