Mark E. Hofmann

A memorial service for Mark E. Hofmann, 48, a Carson City resident for the past seven months, will be at 10 a.m. today at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Mr. Hofmann died July 18, 2004, in Carson City. He was born June 9, 1956, in Hawthorne, Calif., to Eugene and Laverne Hofmann.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Manteca, Calif.

Mr. Hofmann loved his work as a truck driver. He was a former police officer in Parker, Ariz.

He was a Protestant.

Among his survivors are his wife, Cynthia of Carson City; son, Christopher Spears, serving in the U.S. Navy in Afghanistan; stepson, Bill Wackerly of Carson City; daughter, Tiffany Hofmann of Ontario, Calif.; stepdaughter, Ashley Wackerly of Carson City; parents of Bellflower, Calif.; sisters Melanie Longoria of Downey, Calif., and Shana Lynch of Long Beach, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.
