Robert 'Bob' Lockhart

A memorial service for Robert "Bob" Lockhart, 75, a Dayton resident for the past 13 years, will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Mr. Lockhart died July 17, 2004, at home. He was born Sept. 13, 1928, in Cincinnati to Jesse H. and Nettie J. Hubbard Lockhart.

He married Virginia Schneider Aug. 11, 1951, in Pico, Calif.

Before moving to Dayton, he lived in Garden Grove, Calif.

Mr. Lockhart was a commercial painter. He enjoyed hiking, fishing and historical exploring.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Among his survivors are his wife of Dayton; son, Glenn of Dayton; daughter, Lynn Mattocks of Yorba Linda, Calif.; brother John of Grants Pass, Ore.; and sisters Lena Robles of Grants Pass and Dorothea Hopewell of Pennsylvania.

Inurnment will be at Lone Mountain Cemetery at a later date.

Capitol City Cremation & Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
