Adopt a dog day in Silver Springs

Dog adoptions will be held from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Alt. 95 and Highway 50 in Silver Springs in front of Champion Homes. The dog adoption last week placed three dogs in new homes.

Search and Rescue golf scramble set

Lyon County Search and Rescue, a nonprofit volunteer group, invites all golfers to its second Golf Scramble June 26 at the Dayton Valley Golf Club.

Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. and the scramble is at 1 p.m.

Money generated will help defray maintenance costs to existing equipment, supply training, provide additional equipment and provide uniforms for the members.

Cost is $100 per player which includes golf with cart, range balls, tee prizes and dinner following play.

Dayton Scouts hold rummage sale

Dayton Boy Scout Troop 100 will hold a large rummage sale from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. June 26 at the Calvary Baptist Church on Highway 50 at Flowery.

The sale will include a wide variety of items donated by the 30 troop members and their families.

Lemonade and baked items will also be for sale at the event. The money made supports Scout camp outs, summer camp, a Grand Canyon hike and other events, and will allow the troop to buy needed supplies.
