Madrene Dinah McDonald-Evans

A service for Madrene Dinah McDonald-Evans, 60, a Dresslerville resident for the past 40 years, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. McDonald-Evans died Feb. 28, 2004, at Washoe Medical Center. She was born Dec. 27, 1943, in Dresslerville to Lester and Leona Fillmore McDonald.

She graduated from Stewart Indian School in 1962, and attended beauty school for 18 months.

She married Gerald Evans in July 1963 in Las Vegas.

Before returning to Dresslerville, she lived in Fairbanks, Alaska, for 20 years.

Mrs. McDonald-Evans was a beautician in Alaska for 20 years and an electronics assembler in Carson City. She was a Baptist.

She was preceded in death by her father and two nieces.

Among her survivors are her husband, "Jerry" of Fairbanks; daughters Jenny Evans and Catherine "Asa" Evans, both of Stewart; mother; sisters Charlotte McDonald, Madeline McDonald, Justine Koos and Carolyn Ewing, all of Gardnerville, and Jeanette Blevins of San Diego, Calif.; brothers Wilfred McDonald, Roger McDonald, Russell McDonald and Calvin McDonald, all of Gardnerville; and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.

Burial will be in the Woodfords Cemetery.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
