A memorial service for Ruth E. Cook, a Carson City resident for the past 25 years, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.
Mrs. Cook died March 15, 2004, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. She was born April 13, 1928, in Wheeling, W.Va., to John Frederick and Ima Jean Richmond Morgan.
She married Tommie Cook on March 4, 1961.
Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Southern California.
Mrs. Cook was the former owner of Carson City Sub Shop & Deli.
She was preceded in death by her husband May 21, 2000; son Randall Horne; brother, Ralph Daniels; and sister Hazel Chrispen.
Among her survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Vincent Mannino of Brick, N.J.; sons and daughters-in-law William and Lissa Horne of Irvine, Calif., and Gary and Debra Horne of Vacaville, Calif.; sons Tom Cook Jr. of Carson City and Ron Cook of Lake Tahoe; sister Norma Harvey of Desoto, Kan.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and four nephews.
Capitol City Cremation & Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
