A funeral for Samuel Allen Sikes, 20, a former Carson City resident, will be at 11:30 a.m. today at Palms Chapel Mortuary in Fontana, Calif.
A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church in Carson City.
Mr. Sikes died March 25, 2004, in California in a motorcycle accident. He was born July 21, 1983, in Bakersfield, Calif.
He was attending Citrus Community College and planned to go to the University of California at Stanislaus on a basketball scholarship in the fall. He graduated from Galena High School in Reno and was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Carson City, when he lived here.
Among his survivors are his mother, Debby Schipper of Las Vegas; brother, James Schipper; sister and brother-in-law, Kristi and John Coyne of Tacoma, Wash.; and niece, Keana Schipper.
Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Galena High Basketball, 3600 Butch Cassidy Way, Reno, NV 89511.
