In addition to grant funding, the Advocates receive money from fund-raisers throughout the year. The following is a brief outline of a few upcoming events.
n The Clear Creek Bowmen are conducting their annual Cancer Shoot on July 18 and this year, all proceeds will go to Advocates.
n The Nevada Department of Corrections is organizing a walk-a-thon, slated for Oct. 3. About seven prisons statewide will be involved.
n Hosted by the Advocates, Winter Wine and All That Jazz is scheduled for Jan. 15.
The organization accepts applications for aid, which are scrutinized by a patient review committee. For information, call 883-7477.
