State Farm to close warehouse

State Farm Insurance plans to close a Reno warehouse that distributes forms and office supplies to its agents.

The closure is scheduled for the end of this year, said Gus Miranda, a spokesman for State Farm.

The warehouse a "multi-regional stock facility" in the jargon of State Farm employs about 20 people.

Miranda said they will be given opportunities for transfer to other State Farm facilities or early retirement.

The 300,000-square-foot building at 6995 Longley Lane will be sold by State Farm, Miranda said.

The building is about 10 years old.

Miranda said operations from the Reno center will be transferred to similar facilities at Bloomington, Ill., and Rock Hill, S.C.
