Carson City's danceSpirit dancers place in competition

Fifty dancers and an instructor from danceSpirit in Carson City attended a dance competition last weekend, one of five they are going to this year, including a national Dance USA competiton in Las Vegas in July.

Results are as follows:

• 25 first-place wins

• 13 second-place wins

• 8 third-place wins

Top honors were:

• Second Place Overall High Score 6-8 age division for Boo Boo Truck, choreographer Robin Kato, Mini Star Dance Team.

• First Place Overall High Score 9-11 age division for Via Dolorosa, dancer Diana Sweeney; choreographer Staci Flatness.

• First Place Overall High Score 12-14 age division for Aurora's Variation, dancer Rebecca Jolly; choreographer Robin Price.

• First Place Student Choreography age 9-11 for It's My Life, dancers Kenzie Tillitt and Diana Sweeney.

• Overall High Score Beginning Group Routine to Boo Boo Truck, Mini Star Dance Team, choreographer Robin Kato.

• Second Place Overall High Score Production Number for Safe and Warm, A Father's Love; choreographer, Sandi Scheer.

• Teacher's Excellence Award to Sandi Scheer and all danceSpirit instructors for most routines to qualify for National competition.
