Michael Thomas

Michael Thomas, the founding executive director of the TechAlliance, has joined the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada as director of resource development.

In the newly created position, Thomas will lead EDAWN's expanded financial resources development efforts to support and grow the non-profit organization's economic development operations.

Prior to joining EDAWN,Thomas was director of business development for Reno-based Twelve Horses, a leading global provider of email and web-based marketing and business automation solutions.

Prior to Twelve Horses, Thomas was the executive director of the Tech Alliance, a non-profit that fostered technology and entrepreneurial development in Nevada from 2000 to 2002.

Thomas also worked as an anchor/reporter for KTVNTV in Reno from 1996 to 2000.

Thomas was named Marketer of the Year in 2002 from the American Marketing Association and received the 2002 Mark Twain Award for Achievement in Community and Public Relations from the Sierra Nevada Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.

He graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in communications from Saint Mary's College in 1993 and is a graduate of the Sierra Leadership Seminar for executive leadership training.
