An informal memorial gathering for Bette C. Nyswonger, 66, a Nevada resident for the past 42 years, will be 2-4 p.m. Saturday at 732 Norfolk Drive.
Mrs. Nyswonger died Nov. 1, 2004, at Washoe Medical Center. She was born June 27, 1938, in Danville, Ky.
Mrs. Nyswonger spent many years as the executive chef at the Governor's Mansion before retiring last year. She took great pride in her culinary abilities, and fed nearly the entire list of "Who's Who" in the state of Nevada. She was also an artist, crafter and great supporter of the art community.
Among her survivors are her daughters Patty Peroddy and Nan Flocchini; son, Michael; three grandchildren; and special friends Stan and Helen Wiemer.
