Construction jobs win AGC awards

Eight of Northern Nevada's commercial and public works construction projects were honored at the Sixth Annual PINNACLE Awards, sponsored by the Nevada Chapter Associated General Contractors.

The PINNACLE Awards program honors the "Best of the Best" in Northern Nevada construction projects.

(PINNACLE is an acronym for "Projects In Northern Nevada Award for Construction Leadership Excellence.")

Winners included:

* Contribution to Community: Q&D Construction, Inc., The Veteran's Guest House * Excellence in Client Service: Krump Construction Inc, The Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe - Phase II.

* Contractor's Innovation in Techniques or Materials: Q&D Construction Inc., St.Mary's West Campus Parking Structure * Meeting the Challenge of a Difficult Job: Q&D Construction Inc., Bishop Manogue High School

* Meeting the Challenge of a Difficult Job: Granite Construction Co., I-80 Reconstruction - Truckee to Floriston

* Meeting the Challenge of a Difficult Job (Specialty Contractor):Martin Iron Works Inc., Downtown Reno Events Center An award of merit in the category of Meeting the Challenge of a Difficult Job went to Clark & Sullivan Constructors for its work on the Jan Evans Juvenile Detention Center.

The Peoples Choice Award, voted on by attendees at the awards celebration, went to PAR Electrical Contractors for the Gondor Electrical substation.
